Running the Triple Crown

Corrina Williams, 7, of Lewiston runs with her mother, Jennifer Williams, during the kid's fun run, a kickoff to The Greater L-A Triple Crown 5K Series in Auburn on Sunday. Jennifer Williams followed the brief run with her daughter by running the YMCA Fit Fest 5K through the streets of Lewiston and Auburn. Alex Moser of Portland was the top men's finisher and Erica Jesseman of Scarborough was the top woman in the race that attracted 675 participants. Emily's Run is the second leg of the Triple Crown Series and will be run on July 24. The series will finish with the Bridge Run on August 28. Corrina Williams is a first grader at Montello Elementary School.

We encourage kids of all ages to run The Triple Crown 5K races.  Running is fun, great exercise, and a wonderful way to strengthen young bodies and minds.  We believe in healthy kids and so does The Bridge Run Foundation. Through their generosity, all kids 14 and under run our 5K’s for FREE!  We hope this inspires and enables families to run together – we love seeing entire families out on the course.

Kids are also included in our post-race Award Ceremony (awards begin with the “10 and Under” category). All participating minors must have the permission and signature of a parent or guardian.

Strong kids, strong families, strong communities!
